From the moment we arrived, the pace shifted. The air felt cooler and cleaner, the setting quieter, and the distractions of everyday life melted away. It didn’t take long for us to realize this trip wasn’t about checking off activities — it was about soaking in the moments in between.

We stayed in one of the retreat cabins, and it was everything a mountain stay should be — warm, inviting, and perfectly set up for families. The wood burning fireplace was incredible. The cabin had that rustic charm that makes you want to curl up inside, without sacrificing comfort.
Inside the cabin, we leaned into the slower pace — building puzzles together, playing games at the table, and enjoying uninterrupted family time that’s often hard to come by at home. No rushing, no schedules — just quality time, the way vacations should feel.
Outdoor Space Made for Memory-Making
Tahquitz Pines offers plenty of room to explore and unwind outdoors. During the day, we wandered the property, took in the surrounding forest, and let the kids enjoy the open space and fresh mountain air. It’s the kind of environment where kids naturally play and parents naturally relax.
Don’t skip on The Peak which is the on-site restaurant. Friendly service and delicious food.
The retreat also offers a seasonal pool along with a variety of on-site amenities such as Horse shoe, pickleball court, basketball and many hiking trails nearby
